The hotel has been built on an area of about 8.000 square meters. It's integrated in a colourful nature rich in eucalyptus, palms and tropical plants, flavoursome groves of lemon trees and flowers in uncountable colours. Furthermore the Mediterranean climate offers you holidays to relax and recover with the opportunity to swim in the turquoise and crystal clear sea with it’s beaches of white sand and cliffy rocks, inviting you to sunbathe whilst feeling a fresh breeze from the sea. Hotel Damanse has comfortable rooms at your disposal equipped with tele-vision receiving the BBC-channel. All rooms dispose of a bathroom with shower and WC, wifi, frigobar and air condition. In the di-ninghall and on the terrace in immediate vicinity of the garden you can experience the typical Calabrian cuisine based on traditional recipes and prepared by a kitchen under familiar control which makes part of the omnipresent hospitality. The cordial and familiar ambiance in the hotel which accompanies you always makes part of the success of this oasis of well-being and lets you experience the typical Italian “bella vita” anew day by day. In the great swimming pool water gym is offered daily and great playground invites the kids to go on the swings. Excursions Hotel Damanse is located at a distance of 6 km south of Tropea and 3 km north of Capo Vaticano. This locality offers you all opportunities for day trips or a bath in the Tyrrhenian sea at 750 meters distance. The localities you can visit from the Damanse as a “base camp” offer you numerous art treasures, the typical architecture or the folkloristic traditions which document the region’s history of centuries. The exposed location of the Capo Vaticano offers you the possibility to perform numerous excursions. An exploration of the coastal line leads you from Tropea with it’s picturesque Old Town down south to the Bronze di Riaci (bronze statues found in the Tyrrhenian Sea) in Reggio Calabria, of which Gabriele D’Annunzio said it’s boardwalk was the most beautiful mile in Italy. The hinterland invites you to trips with stop over at Mongiana and Serra san Bruno, domicile of the convent of Certosa, finally arriving at the Ionian Sea with the Cattolica of Stilo, Capo Colonna and Le Castella. Crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea you reach the Aeolian Islands. Stromboli the active volcano is located 32 nautical miles west of the Capo Vaticano. From there the door opens to Sicily’s beauties e.g. Taormina, Cefalù or the volcano Etna ARRIVAL by car: From the north: The route is described from Naples: Take the Autostrada A3 Salerno-Reggio and leave it at the exit "Pizzo Calabro". Follow the signs to Tropea on the S.S. 522. After arrival in Tropea always on S.S. 522 follow the signage in direction Capo Vaticano/Reggio C.. 3 kms behind Tropea you pass through the little village Santa Domenica. 3 kms behind this village the Hotel is located on the left hand side. From the south: Take the ferryboat from Sicily to Villa san Giovanni or Reggio Calabria. From there take the motorway A3-Reggio-Salerno and take the Exit at Rosarno (about 70 kms from Villa san Giovanni) The follow the route Nicotera-Joppolo-Ricadi. 4 kms after Ricadi in direction Tropea you'll find the Hotel Damanse on the right hand side of the street. Folloowing the instructions it takes you t o Tropea. From there on S.S. 522 follow the signage in direction Capo Vaticano/Reggio C. 3 kms behind Tropea you pass through the little village Santa Domenica. 3 kms behind this village the Hotel is located on the left hand side. by train: Take the train to Lamezia Terme station. (The Hotel Crew can pick you up here. (transfer 90 Euro) Or you have to change to the regional train to Tropea!! You can leave the train either at Santa Domenica or Tropea or Ricadi station. The hotel crew can pick you up there. (transfer free) by aircraft: Take a flight to Lamezia Terme airport. From there the hotel crew can pick you up. (transfer 90 Euro)
