Our Philosophy: This is a place for those who love nature and animals as we are in the Tuscan Maremma , a wild romantic land. We are not - and do not want to be - a luxury hotel: we are just a charming small country resort, with the authentic atmosphere of an original XIth century property. We do not have TVs, our guests prefer sipping wine in front of a gleaming fireplace or watching a stunning Tuscan sunset disappear into the Caminino olive groves, enjoying all of nature's bounty and beauty to it's fullest.
Die Lage des Hotels
Pieve di Caminino is in the deep Tuscan contryside, between Siena and the Mediterranenan silver coast. The position may beisolated, but Caminino is easy to reach both from Rome's Leonardo da Vinci Airport (200 km-124 miles) and from Pisa's Galilelo Galilei airport (180km-112miles). It is the ideal strategic home base to start many tours, from the local middle age centers, like Massa Marittima, Roccatederighi, Montemassi, Montepescali, to Siena (50km-31miles away) and Florence (130 km - 81 miles away). The Marrucchi-Locatelli family has owned this property, one of the most beautiful in Maremma, since 1873: they will be glad to suggest to you what really should not be missed. You can relax by the pool with the stunning view of Montemassi castle, or just half an hour away, the lovely Tuscan seacoast with the beaches of Castiglione della Pescaia awaits you for a swim. A multitude of interesting places lie in the vicinity of Caminino. There are Etruscan and Roman archeological sites, the most important of which (Roselle, the Crypt of S. Salvatore a Giuniano, Vetulonia and S.Galgano) are all within a 40-minute drive. There are plenty of medieval towns, including Sovana, Massa Marittima, Pitigliano and many more. The National Nature Park of Uccellina is 30 minutes away; and nearby are the Oasis of Lake Buriano, Mount Amiata, several thermal baths (among which the world-famous Terme di Saturnia) or beaches (some of Tuscany's best shores are only 20 miles away). Golf courses, tennis courts and horseback riding all lie within a very reasonable distance from Caminino, and classes in painting, watercolor and maremmana cuisine can be organized upon request. Within 6km you can find everything you need, bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery, shops, together with very nice trattoria restaurants where you can taste the very good local food.
Zimmer / Unterbringung im Hotel
The are 5 suites and 2 apartments. Suites are for 2 people or 2 people + 1 (bed coach), while the apartments are for4 people. All suites and apartments have terraces or private furnished gardens. All of them are quiet, becuase the XIth - XIIth walls are very thick, and may be located at ground level, fisrt or second level. Just 2 of them, Bifora and Teacher's House, have air conditioned, while all of them have a fireplace and personal heating system. All suites and apartments are furnished with antiques and paintings coming from Marrucchi Locatelli family collections.
Gastronomie im Hotel
The resort has no restuarnat, as all the 7 suites and apartments are equipped with kitchens or kitchenettes. Breakfast can be srevd right to the suites on request. Within 6km you can find everything you need, bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery, shops, together with very nice trattoria restaurants where you can taste the very good local food.
Sport und Unterhaltung
Pieve di Caminino has a freat farm estate of 500 hectarers (more the 1500 acres), /0% is made of cork forest with trekking and mountain bike path. The rest of the land is made of a centenary olive grove, where, on a hill, the panoramic pool is located, in order to enjoy the view towards the olive trees and Montemassi castle.

The warm welcome is our must. To grant a warm wlcome and a relaxing check in, we accept and welcome our guest only from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. On previous request we may accept early check in, while we do not accept check in after 7.30, when our reception will be closed.
